Hola (hello) ! My name is Ingrid Ochoa y Bienvenidos (Welcome)! 

Enjoy as you browse through my e-folio which highlights my competency skills in public health and practical experiences at San Francisco State University.

I have been in the health field since 1993 and earned my Master of Public Health degree with an emphasis on Community Health Education, received my credentials from the National Commission for Health Education (CHES) and am currently a sexual health instructor and a health educator specialist at San Francisco State University's Student Health Center.

As a Colombian woman raised from a strong latina family (all women), I have had the opportunity in this program to see myself wear many different hats that I have not been accustom to; a scholar, a facilitator, an advocate, a health educator, counselor, and a trainer, but most importantly, have been able to use my bilingual skills and multicultural background to better serve the many cultures in San Francisco to provide sources of encouragement for people to actively take control of their health. Each step, whether it brings success or failure, supplies me with new understanding and enriches my journey. I would not be the woman I am today if I had not had these struggles.
